A customer returns part of an order. The system makes you retype the line items into a fresh document. It recalculates tax at today's rate instead of the rate you charged. It returns either none of the volume discount or all of it. It lets you credit more than you invoiced without objection. If the original was in euros, it converts at today's exchange rate and buries the difference where nobody will find it.
None of this is exotic. It is an ordinary Tuesday for a small company's bookkeeper, and it is why the spreadsheets never go away.
Revenue, collected, pending and overdue — with the amount expected in the next seven days rather than the amount technically due. The forecast number is built from how your clients actually behave, not from their stated terms.
Status, dates, amounts, and the native currency alongside its converted value. Paid invoices carry a return action directly — no separate screen to navigate to first.
Deus Clerk treats a return as the reversal of a specific invoice. Pick the invoice — every line shows what was sold, what has already been credited, and what remains. Enter the quantities coming back and the credit note derives itself: tax at the rate you charged, exchange rate on the day you issued it, discount reversed in exact proportion.
Invoice in one currency, report in another, and keep the rate that applied on the invoice date. Returns reverse at that rate. The difference against today's rate appears as its own line rather than being absorbed into a total nobody can explain.
A due date is a promise. Deus Clerk reads what each client has actually done across every settled invoice — average days to pay, on-time rate, which direction the pattern is moving — and projects the real landing date for everything still outstanding.
Contact details, volume billed, and current standing — with the payment behaviour that feeds the forecast built from the actual settlement history of every invoice you have issued to them.
Small and mid-sized businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets but do not need an ERP. Agencies, trading companies, logistics, consultancies — anywhere invoices go out in volume, returns happen, and more than one currency is in play.
What you see in the tour is the complete interface, built and interactive. We build the production system around your actual workflow — your document numbering, your tax setup, your accounting integration — rather than asking you to fit into someone else's.
Tell us what your bookkeeping actually looks like and we will tell you what it would take.
